Dear Parents & Nippers

Message from your Nipper Officer – Allie Absalom

“What a challenging nipper season it has been. Sometimes no matter how difficult things might get for us as adults…there will always be a child who will lift our moods and make us appreciate why we do what we are doing. No SAs this season but I salute our special bunch of Fish Hoek Nippers who uplifted us in so many ways. You were just fantastic to watch…❤👏👏🏊‍♂‍🏊‍♀‍🏊‍♂‍” – Allie

SA Champs Campout

The SA Champs Campout took place this past weekend at Imhoff Caravan Park in Kommetjie. What an amazing time of fun, family and friendship. The Fish Hoek Nippers had the best weekend camping with our families. We played, we sang, we laughed, we were very, very silly. We had deep conversations and remembered what it means to be a Fish Hoek Nipper. It was the most wonderful way to celebrate all the hard work that has gone into this season. Thank you to all involved in making it such an incredible weekend.

A special thank you to Fun Nikki and Ernst for organizing an amazing fun-filled campout, to Andre and his team for the amazing braai skills they demonstrated, to Tammy and her team for the fantastic kit for the SA Champs team, and most of all to the Nippers and Coaches for creating a fantastic 2020 Fish Hoek Nippers Team.

SA CHAMPS 2020
Lifesaving South Africa acknowledges the State Presidents announcement of a State of Disaster which includes a range of restrictions and bans, such as barring gatherings of more than 100 persons and the restrictions on non-essential travel.

Considering this Lifesaving South Africa announces the cancellation of the Wimpy South African Lifesaving National Champs scheduled for 19-25 March 2020 in Port Elizabeth. We wish at this time to discourage teams from travelling to Port Elizabeth if not already actioned.

We acknowledge the hard work all the athletes, officials, clubs, the Local Organizing Committee and event management have put into the preparation of the event. We thank you all for the time, effort and energies undertaken.

Lifesaving South Africa will in due course announce further details on the implications of the cancellation of the Wimpy South African Lifesaving National Championships 2020.

Kind Regards
Dhaya Sewduth
President of Lifesaving South Africa
